Why study this course

Human beings are hardwired to seek autonomy; the discipline of coaching gives Leaders and Coaches the skills to empowering people by eliciting their own solutions rather than telling them what to do. This allows the person being coached to feel in control of his or her own development and have a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Coaching is a valuable skill, which revolves around asking powerful questions. It’s predominantly used to improve output of capable and high performing workers and can be adopted by peers, leaders and specialists.

In this session participants will learn the fundamental skills of coaching including active listening, questioning and body language. They will brainstorm crucial questions and create a takeaway question bank.

The majority of this course is experiential. Participants will be practicing the new techniques they learn as well as giving and receiving peer feedback to improve the application of this skill acquired in the session.

Coaching is a great way to motivate people to succeed and have them be empowered around their own development. In the session, we explore other ways to motivate and reward people within our organisations and how we can motivate ourselves and others, regardless of our rank within the team.

This course is appealing to aspiring, emerging and current leaders who are looking to enhance their skills in developing and motivating people in their organisation as well as business owners, salespeople, volunteers and teammates. There is an optional qualification upgrade available.

This course is often delivered in two half-days instead of one full day.
