Cloud computing as the default

According to a Gartner report in 2022, worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is forecast to grow 20.4 per cent in 2022 to total $494.7 billion, up from $410.9 billion in 2021, according to the latest forecast from Gartner, Inc. In 2023, end-user spending is expected to reach nearly $600 billion.

In the meantime, enterprise IT spending on public cloud computing, within addressable market segments, will overtake spending on traditional IT in 2025.

Gartner’s ‘cloud shift’ research narrowed down to just those enterprise IT categories that can transition to cloud, within the application software, infrastructure software, business process services and system infrastructure markets. By 2025, 51% of IT spending in these four categories will have shifted from traditional solutions to the public cloud, compared to 41 per cent in 2022. Almost two-thirds or 65.9 per cent of spending on application software will be directed toward cloud technologies in 2025, up from 57.7 per cent in 2022.

“The shift to the cloud has only accelerated over the past two years due to COVID-19, as organisations responded to a new business and social dynamic,” said Michael Warrilow, research vice president at Gartner. “Technology and service providers that fail to adapt to the pace of cloud shift face increasing risk of becoming obsolete or, at best, being relegated to low-growth markets.”

Lumify Work and Veeam training

Lumify Work delivers authorised Veeam training to IT professionals in Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Courses run from two days to three days. Training experiences are designed for individuals looking to achieve Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) and Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA) status or looking to acquire an in-depth knowledge of Veeam solutions.

Veeam’s ability to operate synergistically with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud for backup and recovery made the Lumify Work partnership a natural first choice. Lumify Work has an existing partnership with all three of the main top Cloud platforms which provide the foundations for Veeam to help their customers with data automation and availability.

“Veeam’s focus on industry-leading innovative technology makes it the perfect complement to the Lumify Work cloud product stack. We know that Australian businesses’ transition to a multi-cloud strategy is outpacing our global peers, so to be able to play a bigger role in that narrative alongside our partners who are leaders in their field, is an exciting prospect for Lumify Work” said Jon Lang, Lumify Group CEO.

“Veeam has enjoyed a decade of consistent and profitable growth, becoming one of the most successful software companies in the world,” said Shiva Pillay, Vice President, APJ Sales and Field Operations at Veeam.

“We attribute the bulk of this success to our partners and our 100 percent channel model. Our commitment to Veeam partners is paramount in our mutual and continued achievements. As businesses of all sizes are rapidly evolving and adapting to the demands of Digital Transformation and a cloud era, Veeam is ensuring partners have the most innovative product offerings, latest tools, first-class support and the most valuable training and education services for profitability and success. We are excited to be working with Lumify Work.”

Veeam training courses are mission critical for all Senior Engineers and Architects responsible for creating cloud environments on Veeam products. Training is rigorous training with lectures and practical exercises. But the network of students makes it fun and encouraging.

What is a Veeam Architect?

The VMCA certification is the highest level of Veeam certification and demonstrates that an individual possesses a high level of both technical and business skill to design complex, enterprise level Veeam deployments. Follow the steps below and be on your way to become a Veeam Certified Architect today!

All VMCA candidates should possess the VMCE certification prior to starting the VMCA track.

Backup and recovery for the cloud

Veeam Platform is the #1 Hybrid Cloud Backup solution, giving you complete ownership of your data across any environment so you can: protect, control and manage cloud data.

The solution features data centre functions like tape support and snapshot storage integration, along with key deduplication backup integration.

Whether you’re just starting out or well on your way to the cloud, you may likely face cloud-first mandates for Digital Transformation initiatives. From moving production workloads to the cloud to leveraging an off-site cloud target for long-term retention or disaster preparedness — backup and recovery should be at the forefront of your cloud adoption strategy.

Online or onsite, instructor-led live Veeam training courses demonstrate through interactive hands-on practice how to maintain and manage virtual machines, servers, and workstations. It is aimed at administrators who wish to use Veeam Backup and Replication to backup, restore, and replicate data.

With training and expertise, you can use Veeam to get to the cloud even faster with simple tools to intelligently back up, recover and migrate data, where it can be natively protected and kept safe from attack. You can also proactively plan and manage consumption to avoid cloud overspend and ensure savings are recognised in all budgets while still achieving your recovery and compliance goals. And you fill critical needs in your business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR) strategy by securely backing up and replicating to the cloud for long-term retention and disaster recovery readiness.

Availability and data access

Employees in different regions with hybrid work arrangements need to access data around the clock with little to no downtime. Because of this, more and more companies are investing in technologies for the purposes of virtualisation, storage, and scaling service delivery on the cloud.

But there is a gap in applications and Veeam can bridge this gap across systems. With Veeam training courses delivered through Lumify Work, system engineers and virtualisation administrators will learn to design, optimise, build and implement Veeam software solutions to address challenges with remote staff and data availability and access.
