What you’ll learn

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Learn to select the appropriate Cisco Intersight deployment model for data privacy compliance, differentiate between telemetry polling and streaming via WebSocket transport, and deploy Cisco Intersight Assist to securely proxy third-party APIs

  • Learn to operate, monitor, and support Cisco UCS X-Series infrastructure using Cisco Intersight, including customising dashboards, utilising global search, and applying tagging for efficient resource management

  • Claim and troubleshoot diverse infrastructure targets in a Private Virtual Appliance environment

  • Design and implement a multi-tenant administrative structure in Cisco Intersight using Organisations, Resource Groups, custom role-based access control, and IP Access Management

  • Explain the architecture of Cisco IMM, configure Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect ports, and create policy-based Domain, Chassis, and Server Profiles for Cisco UCS X-Series deployments

  • Describe the fundamental and advanced concepts of Cisco UCS server profiles, pools, and policies within Cisco Intersight

  • Learn to create, clone, and deploy server profiles and templates to efficiently manage standalone and Fabric Interconnect-attached servers, ensuring configuration consistency and rapid provisioning

  • Understand Cisco Intersight Virtualisation capabilities for managing, monitoring, and automating virtualised infrastructure across on-premises environments, including target claiming and workflow orchestration

  • Learn to integrate and monitor third-party storage arrays within Cisco Intersight and design policy-driven storage configurations for consistent, scalable Cisco UCS server deployments using Cisco Intersight Managed Mode

  • Execute coordinated fabric and server firmware upgrades with traffic evacuation and compliance validation

  • Explain how to design and execute unattended operating system installation workflows within Cisco Intersight using the Software Repository, Cisco-validated, Custom, and Embedded installation methods, placeholder variable configuration, password encryption, and CSV-based bulk deployment across Cisco UCS server infrastructure

  • Learn to proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and secure Cisco UCS infrastructure using Cisco Intersight's Topology View, Metrics Explorer, Alarms, Syslog/SNMP policies, Security Advisories, and Audit logs

  • Learn to interpret, query, visualise, and analyse Cisco Intersight telemetry data using OTLP standards, the native Druid-powered Telemetry API, custom metric widgets, and capacity forecasting capabilities to deliver proactive infrastructure observability

  • Use Cisco Intersight’s proactive and reactive support tools to identify and resolve UCS hardware and firmware faults

  • Describe the capabilities of the Device Console application, navigate its GUI and CLI, and generate diagnostic data for troubleshooting Cisco UCS components

  • Systematically troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in Cisco IMM, including discovery failures, profile deployment errors, power and thermal violations, IMM Transition Tool failures, and emergency target unclaims

  • Integrate Cisco Intersight with ServiceNow and Splunk to make infrastructure telemetry visible, connected, and analysable across IT operations
