Meet Terry Griffin – Principal Technologist at Lumify Work
Terry Griffin is one of Lumify Works Principal Technologists specialising in security. As a technology specialist, Terry brings to the classroom his extensive experience and knowledge which he uses to keep his courses interesting to the attendees. He is known as a Microsoft, VMware and Citrix evangelist, and brings that enthusiasm to the classroom. He teaches all products with an emphasis on security and encryption requirements in the modern world and is an EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker and Certified Network Defender.
Terry has been in the education field for 17 of his 33 years in the civilian IT industry. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Terry has had considerable experience in the mini computer field, moving on to personal computers as they began to take the place of minis. He has installed and maintained many local area network operating systems, including Novell, Banyan Vines, LanTastic, OS/2 Lan Manager and Windows.
In the corporate training environment, Terry has been teaching Microsoft courses from Windows NT 4, EC-Council Ethical Hacking and Network Defender, Citrix WinFrame 1.7 and VMware 5.1 through Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.x and VMware 6.x.
Terry brings to the classroom his considerable field experience which enhances the courses he teaches with real life examples. Terry teaches all three major hypervisor courses: XenServer, VMware and Hyper-V. While working in the field, Terry certified and practiced as a Compaq Accredited Systems Engineer, configuring, installing and maintaining racks of Compaq equipment containing Microsoft servers hosting Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange and Citrix systems. He was awarded the Wang Pride in Service Award during his twelve years with that mini computer company.
Terry was recognised for his dedication to the Citrix technologies when he received the Asia Pacific Citrix Certified Instructor of The Year award for both 2011 and 2012. He has taught most of the Citrix courses, including XenApp, XenServer, XenDesktop, Password Manager, NetScaler and Access Gateway at Administrator, Enterprise Administrator and Integration Architect levels. Terry also teaches a range of Microsoft courses, including Windows 10, Server 2012R2 and and server based applications such as Microsoft Exchange. He is also certified to teach CompTIA A+ and Network+ courses.
