Who is the course for?
The audience for this course is data professionals who want to learn about designing and developing AI-enabled database solutions across Microsoft’s SQL platforms, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and SQL databases in Microsoft Fabric. This role develops database solutions that include both structured and semi-structured data and integrates AI features into modern and highly scalable enterprise applications.
Course subjects
During the course, you will be guided through key areas such as:
Designing and developing AI‑enabled database solutions across Microsoft SQL platforms, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and SQL databases in Microsoft Fabric.
Working with structured and semi‑structured data to build modern, scalable, and enterprise‑ready data solutions.
Integrating AI driven capabilities, including vector search, embeddings, and intelligent data services, into SQL based applications.
Prerequisites
Prerequisite certification is not required before taking this course. Successful Azure Data Fundamentals students start with some basic awareness of computing and Internet concepts, and an interest in extracting insights from data.
Specifically:
A general understanding of database concepts, such as tables, queries, and basic SQL operations.
Familiarity with core data types and data structures, including both structured and semi‑structured data.
An interest in learning how AI capabilities, including vector search and embeddings, can enhance SQL based data solutions.
A willingness to explore cloud‑based data platforms, particularly those within the Microsoft ecosystem. Basic experience working with data in applications, or a desire to learn how modern applications interact with SQL data services.
