Why study this course

Power BI is an interactive data visualisation software product developed by Microsoft with a primary focus on business intelligence. It supports data driven decision making. Power BI lets you connect to and visualise almost any data, bringing it in from multiple sources, transforming data and merging them into a data model to get insights. Power BI allows you to create interactive reports. You can aggregate multiple reports to a dashboard on the Power BI Service and share this to all users with enterprise security.

The Dashboard In a Day Workshop is a one-day, hands-on course designed not just for business analysts but for anyone who needs to build basic reports and dashboards using Power BI. The workshop is a breadth-first look at Power BI and will give attendees a high level understanding of the basic concepts.

Important note: Power BI is a Microsoft App that is not currently supported on non-Windows systems (such as Apple Mac).

Prerequisites

In order to attend this course you must have Power BI Desktop installed on your local desktop or laptop prior to attendance. Download Power BI Desktop from Microsoft here. Power BI accessed through a browser or Microsoft Teams does not have the features and functionality needed to complete this course. Remote connection to your work desktop or laptop is also not suitable.

In addition you will need to be able to extract compressed (ZIP) files to your desktop or laptop.

We recommend dual monitors, especially if your primary monitor is a laptop screen.
