Meet Iain Morrison MSc– ITIL Master and Trainer at Lumify Work
Iain is our resident ITIL Master and one of our senior technical instructors. He is also called to offer expertise on all things Data (Big and small). In addition to being an ITIL Master, he is a PRINCE2 Practitioner and DevOps Accredited.
He is based in Melbourne and has worked with Lumify since moving to Australia in 2012.
Iain is driven by the empowering, uplifting effect of education and knowledge, which aligns with Lumify Group’s goal of enabling people to thrive in the digital landscape.
To become an ITIL Master, one needs to have certifications in Managing Professional, Strategic Leader, and Practice Manager. After almost a year of working through ITIL certifications, Iain achieved this credential - the most advanced in IT Service Management.
The journey began with the Create, Deliver and Support (CDS )exam. He then focused on passing exams for High Velocity IT (HVIT) and Drive Stakeholder Value (DSV) and later the Direct, Plan and Improve (DPI). This helped him earn the ‘Managing Professional’ certification. After that, he passed the Digital and IT Strategy (DITS); this (along with DPI) helped him gain the ‘Strategic Leader’ certification. He then passed Collaborate, Assure and Improve (CAI), which gave him the ‘Practice Manager’ certification and formed the final requirement to attain ITIL Master status.
Passionate about new technology, he works extensively with the Azure Data Platform across the complete stack of products. He also has a background in SQL Server, Oracle and Sybase technologies.
Iain is Microsoft certified and revels in the challenge of keeping up to date with the ever-evolving toolset on offer, recently teaching courses in Azure AI Foundry.
He is also a Google Cloud Certified Data Engineer and champions the variety of fantastic products jostling for positions in this highly competitive area of data-related technologies.
