The DAX in a Day Workshop is a one-day, hands-on course designed specifically for experienced model developers. It teaches how to work with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), perform calculations and define common business calculations for use in reports, address performance and functionality concerns.
Important note: Power BI is a Microsoft App that is not currently supported on non-Windows systems (such as Apple Mac).
At the end of the workshops, attendees will better understand how to:
Describe Power BI data models
Work with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
Perform the calculation basics
Define common business calculations

This course has been designed specifically for experienced model developers. We recommend that attendees have prior experience working with Power BI Desktop to create data models.
Dashboard in a Day (DIAD) or equivalent working experience
Advanced Data Modelling and Shaping training or equivalent working experience
In order to attend this course you must have Power BI Desktop installed on your local desktop or laptop prior to attendance. Download Power BI Desktop from Microsoft here. Power BI accessed through a browser or Microsoft Teams does not have the features and functionality needed to complete this course. Remote connection to your work desktop or laptop is also not suitable.
In addition you will need to be able to extract compressed (ZIP) files to your desktop or laptop.
We recommend dual monitors, especially if your primary monitor is a laptop screen.
